Nudibranchs

This month, we are immersing ourselves in the colourful world of the nudibranch.  These soft-bodied, gastropod molluscs are known for their extraordinarily bright colours, which act as camouflage and are derived from the food they eat. They typically graze on algae, sponges, anemones, corals, barnacles and even other nudibranchs. There are around 3,000 known species and they occur in seas worldwide and at virtually all depths. With their striking colour combinations, nudibranchs are a real visual treat, much loved by our photographers. Click on any image below to see more of our nudibranch photography.
